Day 3 after Detox – Tons of Salt

Okay, almost everything I ate yesterday was laced with salt – very heavy on the salt; sushi, seaweed salad, salmon and for that I paid a price – weight gain of 2 ½ pounds.  Yep, that’s right, I have now gained back 3 pounds since I stopped my detox diet and I haven’t eaten any bad foods.  No sweets at all, no chips at all, no sodas, just healthy food.  But with that healthy food is olive oil, salt and fat.  I did eat more than my allotted 1500 calories I was going to stick with, I think it was closer to 2000 calories and I will have to be very careful with going over my 1500 limit from now on.  Oh well, I’ll have to try harder, we’ll see how it goes from here.  Kate

  1. Don’t worry too much about the 3 pounds, you know it’s the salt. I have been craving salt like crazy, I’m only on day 2 and I keep thinking a little salt would help out my soup. But, I’m resisting.
Keep posting about your maintenance and good luck!

  2. Oh, I had a question. You keep saying that the berry drink is making you nauseous. Did you try taking your enzymes with them? I have read other people saying they got nauseous from it too. I decided to take enzymes with mine, since it’s first thing in the morning and on an empty stomach. So far, no stomach complaints… then again I’m only on day 2.

  3. Hi SweetRedWine,
I didn’t try the enzymes with the berry drink, but that does sound like a really good idea. I was sick from the very first time I drank it. I’m going to wait a month and go back on the diet for a 2 week period, 3 weeks was just a bit too long for me. I’ll be sure to give the enzyme a shot with the berry drink. I actually felt really good on the diet and had energy up until around 7:00 each night and then I would get really tired. Next time I’m going to buy box soups, I understand there is a healthy brand out there and I think it might keep me going if I had a soup I enjoyed in the evenings. Good luck with your diet, I’m glad I went on it. Kate
