21 Pounds in 21 Days

Day 4 - 5 1/2 pounds, Yahoo!

Lost ½ pound today, so down 5 ½ pounds. Wasn’t starving when I woke up this morning, so that is definitely good. But as soon as I had my drink I became nauseas and had to lie down for a ½ hour. Then I was fine for the rest of the day. Went out walking today and cut the grass, so a little exercise is good. The soup I made for dinner wasn’t very tasty, just a concoction of veggies I put together with some curry and I really didn’t like it – oh well, I’m going to drink some more fruit juice this evening. I’m going to have to look online for some soups, it’s only day 4 and I’m already sick of the veggie soup – want some real food, hope this passes soon. I’m also getting tired of the powder drinks – just not appetizing when you get up in the morning and know there’s not much going on for food except these powder concoctions and veggie soup. I did get my chi machine in the mail, I ordered one of the really cheap ones from Amazon and I actually like it, kind of restful. I have been reading others blogging about making it the whole 21 days and I really wish I was there, this is a hard day for me, hopefully tomorrow is better. It does help knowing others have made it and I’m hoping this blogging keeps me going. Well, that’s it for today 4, Kate

  1. Hi Kate,

Thanks for stopping by my blog! Nice to see you’re doing well! Keep up the good work! :-) I too, get nauseated after the berry splash drink but have found that if I make the ‘free soup’ and sip on some of that in the morning, and dilute the berry splash and drink it slowly, the nausea is much less. I am also glad to hear that your colonic went well — I am going to have my first one tomorrow and am interested to see how it goes!

Whooo! 6.5 lbs, go Kate! :-)

  2. I lovee your blog! I want to start the diet next week and you are such an inspiration! Keep posting Im checking everyday and my friends are too! :) Good luck and good job so far.

  3. Hi Sonya,

Wow, that was really good information about diluting the berry drink a little and drinking it slowly. It made a huge difference and today I actually was able to tolerate the drink .

Your blog is very informative. I’m glad you’re writing too, it’s easier when we all share our thoughts and can help each other out like you did for me. Thanks again.

Hope your day was good. Kate

  4. Hi Melissa,

Thanks for the nice note. Today was hard, but it does seem easier when I write about it at the end of the day, almost like saying to myself “I made another day, maybe this time I can make it”. Kate

  5. Hi Kate-
I’ve been mixing my gogi berry splash with some club soda (sodium free) so its like a sparkling berry drink. It actually tastes pretty good and the club soda should help with your nausea too!

    Good Luck-
    laray

  6. Hi Laray,

Thanks for the club soda suggestion, I’ll give it a try, it sure can’t make it worse.

  7. I just recently purchased the 21lbs in 21 days book and I was wondering if you do not purchase the products through the website that is provided. Are there specific items needed to make the soup and juice?

  8. Hi Natasha,

No special items for the soup or juice. I made more carrot juice than any other kind and for the soup I mostly went with Lentils, onions, tomatoes, carrots and celery with any spice you like. Someone suggested the Braggs Liquid Amino adds a salt flavor but I haven’t tried that yet. I liked the lentil soup best because it seemed to keep me full longer and it has more protein than the others. Good luck with your diet, remember it’s just a short period and the goal is a good one. Kate

  9. I have bought the book 21lbs. in 21 days.
But I am having a problem following the procedure of the diet. I have skipped a lot of the testimonals but have read some of them.
I mainly have read from chapter 7 but like I say am having a problem knowing how to start the 21 days.
    Any comments would be appreciated

  10. Hi Joe,

This worked for me: 1 berry drink first thing in morning, then I drank 2 green drinks with some apple juice mixed in during the day. For dinner I made lentil or bean soup, you can puree or just eat it as is without mashing it - it’s all the same. I just ate a bowl full, probably about 1 1/2 cups of soup. In the evening I drank 1/2 bottle of “blueberry B Monster drink by Odwalla” - got them at my local grocery story (Giant Food and Safeway) and Whole Foods sells them. The inner cleanse pills I think help you keep full (you can get them at GNC stores or online). Make sure and take a vitamin each day - this diet is really lacking on them. Good luck on the diet, I thought it was worth it, I lost 12 1/2 pounds in 19 days, and gained 6 pounds back in the first 6 days, but I still am glad I went on it. I’m thinking about starting up again next Monday, but I will purchase canned soup and not make the soups, even though they have salt and meat in them, I think I will be happier on the diet and there still isn’t many calories in the diet so I should still lose weight. Good luck, I agree the book is not easy reading. Kate

  11. Thanks for the info. I really want to try this, but want to make sure I have my ducks in order. Is the berry juice any certain kind, i.e. sugarless, natural, etc.

  12. I bought the Berry Splash by Gardens of The Green - you can purchase it at any health store. I’m going to restart the detox again on Sept 10, but the Berry Splash just makes me so sick that if I have trouble with it again, I’m only going to drink the green drinks. They don’t taste good, but they don’t upset my stomach. I’m pretty sure it’s just all natural fruit and veggies, I don’t think there is any sugar in this diet at all. Good luck on the diet. Kate
